MYSTERY OF REDEMPTION

Image
TOPIC: MYSTERY OF REDEMPTION REVEALED TEXT : Eph. 3.1 21 MEMORY VERSE : ”(God) hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the Kingdom of His dear Son. Colossians 1:13 CENTRAL TRUTH: The gospel reveals the mystery of redemption whereby all may share in the promises of Jesus Christ INTRODUCTION Many believers view Gods redemption as a New Testament concept. They fail to recognize that before creation, God had provided a way for fallen humanity to be reconciled to Him. And that way is through Jesus Christ. After Christ is resurrection, the New Testament believers began to understand the full scope of God’s redemption. It was not just for the Jews, God had intended for the Gentiles to become part of His church as well. Paul referred to this revelation in the gospel as a :"mystery” this word simply describes something that was once not understood but has become clear. This lesson examines Paul's message concerning the mystery

THE YIELDED LIFE

TOPIC: THE YIELDED LIFE TEXT :  Phil 8:3-14 INTRODUCTION Many Christians feel that to be used of God, they need to possess special talent and ability or unique and powerful aptitudes. The truth is that God uses committed men and women that have completely yielded their lives to Him. When God finds such a person willing to be used, there is no limit to what God can do through him. Indeed, nothing less than an unconditional surrender can ever be a fitting response to His sacrifice at Calvary. In our study today we want to consider four marks of the yielded life  (i) Dead to Sin  (2) Dogged in separation  (3) Deference to submission  (4) Dedicated in service. 1. DEAD TO SIN -Rom 6:1,2,6; Gal 2:20; Col 3:1-3; Gal 6:14, 1Pet 2:24; 1Pet 4:1-3,  1:14-16, II Cor 5: 15-17, Gal 5:19-25  Sin is abhorrence to a man that is completely yielded unto God. Like one flees before a lion, so also that man that is completely yielded to God flees from every appearance of evil, not to

THE CROSS AND CHRIST'S ATONEMENT FOR SIN

Image
TOPIC: THE CROSS AND CHRIST'S ATONEMENT FOR SIN TEXT:  Isaiah 53:1-16; Romans 6:1~6; Eph. 1:7,20 INTRODUCTION Christ’s atoning work on the cross provides full salvation from sin, holiness of life and Christlikeness with grace for a daily life of Cross-bearing. Yet, the experience of many today are so far below the expectation of God, that many who profess salvation, lack genuine evidence and fruits of a saved life. Others have confessed their sins (so they say) but are never free from the clutches of sinful habit, worldly lifestyle and all ungodliness. Some who even claim to be sanctified are not better than Simon the Sorcerer of Samaria of whom Peter said “Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee. For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity” (Acts 8:22,23). To live Victoriously over the flesh, Satan and the world; we need to fully understand and embrace Ch

THE MYSTERY OF THE CROSS

Image
TOPIC: THE MYSTERY OF THE CROSS TEXT: John 12.23-33 MEMORY VERSE:   Behold, I shew you a mystery...(1 Cor. 15:513). CENTRAL TRUTH: The events that culminated in Christ's death on the Cross is revealed by God alone through His Spirit. INTRODUCTION The programme that brought about the cross of Calvary is God's way of satisfying the demands of His own nature. God made Jesus bear the punishment of our sins and take our guilt upon himself as our substitute (1 Pet. 2: 24). Jesus did something more than just covering sin but became our substitute taking our own place into Himself (2 Cor. 5: 21). The victory over sin. death and the power of Satan was not only worked by Him, it was delivered by Him. 1. JESUS OUR SIN-BEARER - Jn. 19:16, 17; Heb. 12:2; 1 Pet. 2:24. Jesus was actually made sin with our sin. Jesus did not become a sinner, i.e. He was not sinful. Jesus offered Himself up as a perfect sacrifice without spot or blemish (Heb. 9:14) for our sins. P.T. JESUS: OUR REDEEMER

Image
TOPIC: JESUS: OUR REDEEMER TEXT: Gal.3:13.14 INTRODUCTION (I) Redeem is to buy back (II) To recover back by payment (iii) To Rescue (Iv) To Deliver free (v) To Reclaim (IV) To pay the penalty of  (vii) To atone for, to compensate for the faults of others. JESUS CHRIST fulfilled all of the above so He's our redeemer. BACKGROUND OF OUR STUDY God created man for an extension For God’s dominion over other created things. so God created Him in His image and likeness. both Natural and moral. in the possession of personality and character. From man’s likeness to God flowed His dominion over all other created things Gen.1:26-27, God placed man at the climax of all earthly creation: step by step He proceeded until man was reached as the crown of all earthly creation Ps.8:4-8. so we see the plan for creation of man was purposeful and deliberate. THE NEED FOR REDEMPTION OF MAN The need arose, when man willingly stepped out of God’s divine Nature, through disobedien
